AidUkraineDirect committed to help build new refugee accommodation in a Polish village near that Ukrainian border. One of out volunteers, Nick Waite, selflessly offered to stay in the village to help oversee the building works, which involved converting an old cattle shed. Nick has now been there for over 5 weeks and huge progress has been made. We now have a gravel track to the property, a drainage system, insulation, internal walls, plumbing and windows. We can now move to completing the floor, plastering the walls and installing the heating system. Well done Nick!
Huge thanks to Pete Bowe and Ben Sedgewick of Haalo (https://haalo.co.uk/) and Henry Construction (https://henryconstruction.co.uk/) for sourcing, supplying and donating essential building supplies, including doors, heating systems and water tanks.
